Second skin with a tick feel

I had to update this and remove one star. I'm still happy with how warm they are but Men, wear underwear or chamois shorts with them. A 30 mile ride and I didn't realize the Seam pictures would create an issue. Mile 10 I felt a bit wired but tried to just adjust . I'm back home barely able to walk because of a bruise line cause from chaffing of this seam against .... you know .Not a big deal once diaper cream and rest help, It was 40 degrees and My legs were very comfortable , at the end of the ride I was actually aweaty on my legs .To the mfg, please do something about this seam . All else is amazing except for that I'll placed seamI searched for months for tights that where similar to women's under armor. Most are too thin or not tight for men. These are excellent. They are fleece lines and warm but a half aiz too small. Buy the next larger size .I will still keep these as they act like compression pants for this large guy. This feels like a wet suit which is what Inwas looking for for winter cycling without the cycling specific but padding . The ankle zippers added for ease of fit. The side pockets are great and tight to keep items in but as a sitting position may allow items to fall out. The seams are not in the chaffing zones . All in all I'm happy

So far so good *edit with further review

This is first impression review onlyTook them out today for a 45 minute -windy 40 degree ride around Brooklyn, playing ‘dodge the dirty snow’. Legs were comfortably warm without feeling hot. I think they will work best paired with a padded fall/winter liner short.Lots of comments saying the legs are long. They Are! But the benefit of this was after I zipped the ankles I hiked them up for a little extra play around the knees.I cannot attest to their water resistance but I would say that they are not. But slip a rain shell pant over the top and I think you would be pretty comfortable in the rain.FOLLOW UP 2 MONTHS LATERso I did have to return the first pair after one of the zippers broke (the replacement came super fast!).I have now worn these on rides up to 30 miles in temps down to 25f. My legs have stayed warm and comfortable. On one particularly chilly 20 degree f ride I paired them with a pair of cheap workout leggings for some extra protection. Job done.I would say these are good value for money despite the zipper failure.

Fantastic cold weather runners

I was hesitant about purchasing these after reading the reviews on sizing. I’m 5‘11, 168, athletic build and ordered size M. They fit exactly as I expected them to, snug and comfortable. It’s amazing how warm they are. I just came back from a morning jog in 30F weather (-1C) with a light breeze. One of the things I like the most about them is that they don‘t mark the line of my boxer briefs underneath. The quality of the fabric is thick enough where you can’t see the shadow of the undergarment. The waist has some elastic to it and it also has a cord to tighten depends. I typically shy away from this design but these are actually quite comfortable. The pockets on the sides of the legs are perfect for the cell phone or keys, and it has an additional security pocket in the back for credit cards or cash.I did see two reviews about guys with extra muscular legs who had trouble fitting in these and I see why, but if you have a someone normal / lean body type these are fantastic. Would buy again.

Great tights for running in winter, fleece-lined

Love these running tights. Helped keep me warm during a winter 5k. The inside is lined with micro-fleece so kept me warm while whisking the sweat away. I like these more than the Baleaf winter cycling pants and they are waterproof.. so far.

Comfortable...thicker than I thought theyd be

I'm 6'0 190 lbs with a 30 inseam and a 34 waist. I have muscular legs/thighs. With that said, I got the XL and it fits pretty well. They're a little long but not overly so. They fit snug but are supposed to. They're not so snug around the waist and butt but are pretty snug around my thighs and legs. They're thicker than I thought but not real warm. I went out today in 43 degree weather, wet and a little windy and I could feel the cold. I wasn't cold but I could feel it. If you wore these to work out in you'd be fine after warming up and for just running around they're fine too. They don't show your 'junk' so you don't have to wear underwear....unless you have big junk and in that case, congratulations. You'd probably show in any snug fitting pants. I just started wearing snug fitting pants again after losing weight and am happy with the fit and quality of these. I've worn these two straight days and am satisfied...the wife's happy too.

Not bad!

Bayleaf products seem to run large on me (I'm 6' tall and slender), so I sized down from a medium (what I normally wear in this kind of apparel) to a small. Snug and form fitting with a nice amount of compression. Holds up to misting fine. Does a good job at wicking moisture. Works well at keeping you warm till around 25F then you'll need to really be moving constantly or you're going to feel cold.Front pockets are great, easily hold a phone and they are positioned right where you want them. Back pocket is positioned too low, causing objects placed in there to sit right on your butt. Cash and loose flexible objects are fine for it, and if you really want you can stash your phone there for your run. However you're not going to be terribly comfortable with anything substantial in there. It is really hard to find a warm set of tights for winter running/hiking out of men's apparel, many of the options are more like close fitting pants. These are actual tights though.

Here's measurements and fit for a size Medium

Here's actual measurements from a size medium. Measurements are taken on tights that are laid out flat (not stretched out like they will be when worn):Width of waist: 14.5 inches (29 inch circumference)Length from top of waistband to bottom of leg: 38 inchesInseam from crotch seam to bottom of leg: 29 inchesWidth at widest point of thigh: 9.5 inches (19 inch circumference)Width at ankle opening: 4.5 inches (9 inch circumference)I am a 5'10", 140 lb male. My measurements:Waist circumference at belly button: 31.5 inchesWaist circumference just below iliac crest: 32.5 inchesSingle Thigh circumference at largest point: 20 inchesSingle Calf circumference: 14 inchesSingle Ankle circumference: 8.5 inchesInseam from 1 inch below perineum to bottom of foot: 33 inchesThese tights fit me comfortably for running. If each given circumference measurement of my body was an additional inch they'd still be comfortable, but probably not with 2 inches additional. The leg length is about 3-4 inches longer than I need, but with the ankle zippers zipped up they're fine. If the zippers are unzipped then the bottom of the legs of the tights would be dragging on the ground.

Not For Lazy Comfort

Amazon thought I'd be a large, looking at the sizing chart I thought I'd be an XL, but that was $3 for shipping and I was like, nah, so I got a 2XL because I'm buying them to lay around my house. And friends, they're still small. They compress just about everything, which if that's what you're looking for, is probably great. The compression is not what I was in it for though, I just wanted leggings that I could wear around the house with pockets. I can fit in them, but some definition of "fit", and when I get them on, they make everything look sleek and good, but that process is more than I was looking to get myself into. But the worst part is probably that it was clearly made for lesser-assed men. I am not trying to rock the plumber look, and it gets pretty close, even when they're pulled up above my belly button in the front. I'm going to keep them, because they are fundamentallly fine, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars, but if anyone else like me just want comfort and pockets, go at least 2 sizes up, but probably actually just look elsewhere tbh

Quality tights, great price

First, I want to acknowledge Baleaf's excellent customer service. I had previously purchased a pair of their windproof tights which ended up being too small. Free of charge they sent me the next size up and were very friendly in helping me return the other pair. Five stars for customer service! Now for a review of the thermal cycling tights...I primarily use these tights for running. I live in Minnesota and my goal this year is to run throughout the winter. I have been running in these tights for the past month. As far as warmth goes, they are excellent. So far I have run in these tights down to 15 degrees (Fahrenheit) and they kept my legs warm. They aren't windproof, but my legs don't get very cold when I run and this hasn't been an issue for me. The fleece lining on the inside feels great. I wouldn't hesitate to wear these tights on their own even a little below 15 degrees. I haven't had a chance to do so yet, but will attempt to do it soon. When it comes to warmth, I would give these tights 5 stars. The build quality of these tights is also excellent. They feel durable. The fleece keeps me warm. The vents on the back of the legs are well placed. I don't ever feel like I overheat in the tights, either. I have run in them up to 40 degrees and they have still been comfortable. These tights look and feel like a quality product and for only $20 you can't go wrong. Five stars for build quality.Sizing is the only complaint I have. And it's a pretty minor complaint. The more I've worn them, the more I've gotten used to them. However, the issue I have with them is similar to the issue I had with the windproof version and that's how tight they are in the calf area. I am about 5'10" and 150lbs and am a relatively skinny guy. I don't have particularly large calves, and maybe I'm not used to wearing quality tights (I've had some cheap ones over the years), but they are definitely snug around the calves. I bought two sizes (medium and large) to see if one felt better than the other. The large felt a little more comfortable in the calves, but the two sizes were very similar. The only other issue I have is that the stitching behind the knees for the vents is a little annoying at times. It is located in a spot that is a little uncomfortable. Neither of these things are major issues, and overall I really like the tights and would recommend them to anyone looking for a warm pair of tights for winter running.I actually ended up keeping both the medium and the large because both fit me relatively well. I primarily wear the medium pair when I run and use the large pair for layering when I'm out hiking in the cold.

Warm, Water Resistant, Comfortable, OK Fit

Since I spend a lot of time exercising outside, I have tried to find warm tights, which have been elusive until now. These Baleaf tights definitely do what I need, are warm and comfortable.Since the inside is lined with fleece, they are warm. They were not meant for weather under 15 degrees, but, for me, anything over 20 works! There are two open side pockets which easily fit I-Phones and a third zipper pocket in the back, which complement the design and construction of the tights and are very useful! As for water resistance, they are definitely not waterproof, but I was outside earlier today in a fairly heavy rain for about an hour and I did not get cold. Although a little water blead through, my legs were pretty dry. I had my I-Phone in the pocket and it did not get wet.On sizing, I am a medium and the medium is a touch big and not very tight, but the tights are very comfortable and fit OK.Great tights! I am very happy with Baleaf.

Conforms to my body. Comfortable as a winter underwear!

I wear these under jeans, dress pants, and when sleeping. I wanted a product that fit all of the above needs. This did it. It's thick, obviously for outerwear, but definitely fits comfortably under pants. Very warm. High quality. The zippers are hidden and don't rub. The seams all sit right. Size of cuffs at ankles measures right. Go with your brief/boxer brief size! Don't go smaller! Very warm. Someone wrote a rediculus review about the 'brand label on the thigh being a distraction'.... It's a small, very very small symbol, so don't pay that weirdo any mind. It wicks away moisture. Comfortable to sleep in. It really conforms to your shapes and doesn't make my junk uncomfortable. I wear them without underwear. They do show off your budge, but not enough that I think you need to wear a jock or briefs under them at them gym. Rides down a bit in the arse, but that means I have to tighten the laces a bit more. I think maybe I'll buy a couple more!

Good, not great, but more than worth what I paid.

Wore them for the first time today for a run. Temp was about 23 F with a little wind. For me, that's probably about the lower limit for runs less than an hour without wearing something else too. And I'll probably wear some compression shorts under them below about 30 F from now on to be a little more comfortable and for more wind protection, and definitely for longer runs.As far as fit, I'm 6'2" with 33.5" inseam, currently 180 lbs and 33 in waist. I ordered large. They fit fine around the waist. They're about 1.5" short, on me. I gained a little weight after about 8 months away from running dealing with illness. As I get back into shape and if I make it back to 165-170 lbs and 32" waist, I expect the waist might be slightly loose, but the drawstring should make up for that. I don't think the legs will really get any looser on me though, as I definitely lost muscle mass in my legs while sick. If anything, I'm more worried that they'll be even tighter if I can regain that muscle. I'll try to update this review If anything changes.I can't speak to durability yet. The quality seems good. I have a couple Baleaf compression longs sleeve shirts that have held up well, and these seem comparable so far.I like the rubber around the inside of of the ankle to keep them from riding up. The zipper at the ankle seams like a nice feature, though I'm not sure if I'll really need it. They fit fine going on over my feet. It could make it easier to take them off when they're wet. I like the zipper pocket in the back. I have some shorts with the same kind of pocket, and it comes in handy for keys, id, a little food, etc. The pocket is not big enough for a smartphone. You could probably fit about 4 gels, give or take, or a bar or 2 in there. I don't have any gels or bars on hand, so it's just an estimate. A small camera will also fit. The camera I tried is 3.5" x 2.25" x 0.75". The zipper opening is about 3.75". The pocket extends at a taper about 3.5" in each direction past the openingUpdate Feb 15, 2017: I really like the ankles zippers. It makes it a lot easier to take them off when wet from running in the rain. Unzipping them also makes it easy to roll up to above the knees when I start to get too warm. Zipped and rolled, they'd be too tight and cut off some circulation. Not too tight rolled up unzipped. Durability seems to be pretty good. I did put a hole in one pair. I tripped and scraped my knee. Better the tights than my knee, I guess. But I've worn that pair a number of times since putting the hole in them, and the hole has not gotten any bigger.

Well made and don't get baggy

These tights are great. They are snug and warm and comfortable. THey don't get baggy and they wash well. The thigh pockets are deep enough for a large phone and don't stretch out or get loose. I'm ordering another pair.

Fantastically comfortable, even for all-day wear

These are the very first sports tights I've ever purchased. I'm buying three more of them. They just feel great, both during strenuous exercise or walking around all day. My jeans slip right over them, adding a thermal layer that I don't want to remove even after many hours. (Note: They are NOT hot indoors at all.) I could get used to this, especially during this cold winter. When time comes for a workout, I just slip off the jeans, put on the right shoes and go. Bring along your keys and/or credit cards in the zip pocket that sits at the small of your back. The subtle stripes that show from the reinforcements even look pretty cool -- never thought I'd say that about tights on my own legs.I priced many, many brands of exercise tights and these were way down on the low end of the cost spectrum, so I wasn't expecting much. But what a pleasant surprise.I got the XL, but I'm normally more of an L (or even an M, depending on the garment and the manufacturer) and they fit perfectly, with an extra inch or two in the leg (I'm 5' 8"). They are so super-stretchy, though, it seems they'd be fine for an actual XL sized guy. The zippered ankles are a very nice feature and the inside of the zippers are perfectly hemmed with fabric so you never feel them.Didn't know what I was missing all these years not having something like this in my gym bag.

Fantastic Value - One Sizable Quibble

These are a fantastic value and are the exact same price as the Baleaf summer workout shorts I got recently. Thermal regulation is pretty good. Warm enough for low 40 degree mornings yet still breathable enough that sweat is easily wicked away once the workout gets going. Fabric is a nice midweight. Stretchy and form fitting without being absolutely skin tight or constricting. Haven't had an opportunity to test how these do in the rain, but they are clearly not meant for wet weather, so I don't expect much.My biggest quibble is that these don't come in more than one length. I needed to order the XXL because it's the only way my waist, hips and calves would fit (yeah, I'm a husky boy). And they fit very well. BUT there is a good 3-4 inches extra that scrunches up at the ankles even with some of the extra pulled up my legs. I'm 6 feet exactly. I did look at the size chart before buying and expected a bit of extra fabric, but not as much as I got. Or at least how that extra pools at the ankles. It's still decently wearable, but I probably made a mistake not sending back and looking for something else that fit a bit better in length. And given the ankle zippers and silicone inner cuff, it would cost way more to get these altered than I paid or even how much a new pair from a different brand would cost.I'm guessing 80-90% of the people ordering these won't encounter the fit issues I did, and those that might have a problem will know it's a roll of the dice before ordering - the size chart is pretty accurate. And I'm here to confirm it. It still gets five stars from me since the fit issues really fall on me more than Baleaf. (But Baleaf, if you're listening, please make these in two lengths instead of one!)

Awesome. Comfy, true to size, and comparable to higher end brands.

Simply awesome. Kind of new to compression pants/tights. I'm a slender guy, 5/9 and 115lbs. I wear a 29 waist and 30 length in jeans, chinos etc. (pretty consistently). In soccer pants, specifically Adidas Tiros, I usually purchase a small for a slightly loose but slim fit in the thigh, XS if I wanted something near this fit. I was concerned ordering a small in the BALEAF Thermal Cycling pant, thinking it may be too loose for what I was wanting. It was just as expected for compression pants. Length was just at my ankles... resting right above a low-profile shoe (Onitsuka Tiger Serranos for reference). They fit right in the cuff/top of my Merrell low top hiking shoe if that helps. Not too long, just enough.Ankles on the pants are a little wider at the very bottom. Seems a little odd, I read reviews stating that - they are correct. I kind of like them like that though, almost takes a way from them being a full compression pant, but it's more of a personal preference. I mainly like it like that because I was able to fit a longer, sock underneath without it looking really weird - the side zipper helps.Quality seems to be good - I wouldn't say they are definitely UA or Nike quality, but they're really nice and way more comfy than the above thermal gear. I'm expecting them to hold up well. They're nice for light winter sports/workouts IMO - ice skating, hockey, or just cool weather weekend errands. However, they do get hot when working out - fleece, of course. I didn't expect them to stay as warm as they did... just a small 20 minute workout and I was pretty darn warm near hot... but it was indoor. Outdoor working in the yard, it was comfy and just warm enough (mid 40 to 50 degree weather).I know they're compression pants for running and biking, but I really wish they had pockets on the side... just a personal preference.Overall, I'd say they are true to size, wider ankles at the bottom (with a benefit) and comfortable for various cold weather activities.
