This is going to be a great top for this following winter! It’s nice and warm and I love that it has the thumb holes. The sizing was spot on and for reference I’m 5‘5“ and just under 120 pounds. This could certainly be something that you could layer under a sweater or even under one of those cute puffer vest. It certainly adds warmth, fits grade and is incredibly comfortable!
Our daughter is an avid skier and this shirt will be great as a base-layer. The fit and quality of this item are top notch. The shirt is quite warm. It will definitely significantly increase warmth while skiing. The material will also wick away perspiration, thus keeping you from getting chilled. The material is soft and quite flexible making a very comfortable addition to her ski attire. This shirt would also be great for hiking in the fall and winter. Highly recommended.
As a Southern girl, I get cold in strong air conditioning! For cold weather, I really enjoy wearing thermal shirts. This one has a knit exterior, with a warm lining. It has a mock turtleneck and thumb holes. I am typically between Large size and XL, depending on fabric and style. Based on the size chart, I selected the XL, which fits well, except the arms are very loose fitting. I probably could have ordered the Large, but I like having a bit of room. For reference, I’m 5’7” and weigh 165 lbs. Due to the arms being loose, four stars.I hope you found this review to be helpful. Thanks for reading!!
First off I love this brand. I have lots of stuff from them so I was excited to add this jacket to the collection. Unfortunately it runs very small. All right let's start with the positive. Like I said this is a very well-known brand and a very good quality. The jacket is extremely well made. And it has thumb holes which I absolutely love.It is a little thicker. I thought this was going to be kind of a thin pullover but it's thick. This is something you're going to want to wear a late fall early winter. And along with it being thick it doesn't have much give to it. So there's no stretchiness. It does run small. I got my normal size and I'm just not even going to wear it out in public. I look like a sausage with my casing busting open. But it is a nice jacket just make sure you size up.
For starters, I’ve come to expect quality from the Baleaf brand—their biker shorts are some of my absolute favorites—and this long sleeve thermal top didn’t disappoint. In fact, it quickly became my go-to piece for layering now that the chilly Idaho fall (which really means snowy fall soccer games) has arrived. If you’re looking for a cold-weather staple that’s practical, comfortable, and still stylish, this one checks every box.The first thing I noticed when I pulled it on was the fabric. It’s thick, soft, and wonderfully cozy without feeling bulky. Some thermal base layers have a scratchy inside or feel too technical—like something you’d only want to wear under a ski jacket—but Baleaf managed to nail the balance. The fleece lining is smooth and warm, and the outside has a sleek, polished finish that makes it easy to wear on its own or as a layering piece. It feels high quality, and you can tell it’s designed to last through multiple seasons of wear. The mock neck design is one of my favorite details. It gives just enough coverage to keep my neck warm without being as restrictive as a full turtleneck. For someone like me, who doesn’t always love the bulk around the throat, this is the perfect compromise. It looks chic peeking out from under jackets, vests, or even a cozy cardigan, and it also helps trap in warmth on blustery days. And then there are the thumb holes. I don’t know why, but thumb holes make everything better! They keep the sleeves in place, give a little extra coverage over your hands, and make the shirt feel sportier in the best way. For those cold soccer game mornings, it’s the difference between tucking my hands into my jacket and actually feeling like I can stay comfortable while still clapping and cheering. It’s a small feature, but it makes the top feel even more functional. The fit is flattering and versatile. It hugs just enough to feel streamlined but isn’t skin-tight, so you don’t feel restricted. It layers easily under jackets or coats, but it also looks great by itself with leggings or jeans. I wore it with a puffer vest the other day and got multiple compliments on how “put together” my outfit looked—even though I was really just dressed for warmth. That’s the magic of a well-designed basic: it elevates your whole look while still serving a practical purpose. As far as performance goes, it definitely holds up to the cold. Idaho weather can be brutal, and this shirt keeps me warm without overheating. It breathes enough that I don’t get sweaty if I’m moving around, but it insulates well enough to block out the chill. For fall hikes, outdoor sports, or even just running errands on frosty mornings, it’s an absolute lifesaver.Overall, this top is another win from Baleaf. It’s warm, cozy, durable, and designed with thoughtful details like the mock neck and thumb holes that make it stand out from other thermal layers. I already know I’ll be ordering more in other colors because when you find a cold-weather staple this good, one just isn’t enough.
This is a review for baleaf Long Sleeve Shirts for Women Mock Neck Tops Turtleneck Thermal Fleece Base Layer with Thumb Hole Cold Weather Gear.I ordered this in a small and it fit just fine. My measurements were in line with this according to their size chart. (Chest size of 34" and waist of 28".) It is a slim fitting type shirt and very soft and warm. The neck area fits nicely, and is fairly close to the neck without being too tight or hard to pull over your head. The navy blue color is pretty. It does have some more breathable thin and light areas under the arm and in the center of the back, as pictured in my photos. The arm length was perfect and the thumb hole cuffs work really well and feel nice and cozy on my hands! I have ordered leggings from baleaf before, and these have the same, somewhat thick material which seems very smooth and silky on the outer portion, and soft and almost fleece like on the inside. This is a great warmer top you could use alone, or as an inside layer if you are planning to be active outdoors in cold weather, maybe jogging, hiking, skiing, or riding your bike! I wouldn't use it inside personally because I get warm working out and don't like something this warm to workout in, indoors. This is a quality product that feels very cozy on and although a little expensive, is well made and I will enjoy using it soon when the weather changes.
Nice warm shirt with thumbholes and Ventilated armpits. My wife is a bit concerned that the neck is pretty high and may make you feel like you are choking a bit in certain situations. The inside is a very nice soft and light fleece and feels great on the skin. Stitching is well done and this is a nicely made garment with quality materials.
Well made. Have not yet washed. So we will see
I live in Colorado and do all of my exercising outdoors or in an unheated garage during winter, so I'm always looking for a quality thermal top. I was surprised at how nice this top felt straight out of the box. It's thick and nicely lined. The thumbholes are comfortable and placed well - I didn't notice and excessive pulling on the skin between my thumb and first finger. The color is exactly as pictured. It's warm, but keep in mind that it's still a synthetic material so isn't going to perform as well as, say, merino wool. But the price point is ideal and it's nice to have a simple cheap option that works. No issues with washing, either. Kept its sizing and shape.
this shirt will be great to wear on the farm this winter doing chores or as an extra layer under sweaters to stay warm without being bulky.
This shirt is a thicker material and while it’s currently hot and summer time, I’m looking forward to wearing it once it cools down. I followed the sizing chart and was in between, so went up to a Large. It’s spacious but cozy still. The shirt washed well and the sleeves and torso are long enough for me (I’m 5’-9”), which is something I usually struggle with for activewear. Excited to get some use out of this shirt this year.
The Large comfortably fits my 150lb, 5'4" curvy frame. The turtleneck slips easily over my head and doesn't feel tight, but I have a skinny neck. I think if you carry extra weight on your neck it may feel a bit snug. The sleeves are nice and long and they have a flap to create a glove in case you need to keep your hands warm. Fits large enough to wear a thin layer underneath but this top is so warm that I doubt that I'll need an extra layer.
This is a long-sleeved, fleece-lined top with thumb holes! I was excited to receive this shirt because I'm all about staying warm in the winter months. I am between a small and a medium in tops and knowing this was compressive, I sized up. The fit is odd on me. It's tight on the top and flares out at the bottom, and the length is a bit too long and bulky. I assume a small would be even tighter on top but maybe a better fit all around. I don't love this shirt but it will be okay for layering for winter hikes and other cold weather activities. This top washed up well (I line-dried it).
I got this for my wife to use on her walks during the colder months. The shirt has a premium feel, with a soft fleece interior that keeps it warm and cozy. The outer fabric has a microfiber-like texture that feels nice, although it does absorb water rather than repel it. She appreciates how the material stretches, making it comfortable to wear. The navy color is a bit darker than shown in the pictures, but it still looks good. Overall, she is looking forward to wearing this regularly once the temperatures drop.
I can't wait for cold weather so I can really put this base layer top to the test. The size chart was accurate and the fit was good. I'm on the quite busty side so the top was snug but not tight on me. I LOVE how soft this is inside! Time will tell if the softness holds up after washing and I will update that once I know. I much prefer a mock turtleneck because the ones that fold down never do so in a way that looks smooth. I appreciate the thumb holes as they not only pull the sleeves down farther to help keep my hands warm but they keep the sleeves down while I put another layer over this one. It gets very cold here in the winter and there are a lot of outdoor chores to do when you raise animals so I'm very much looking forward to having this cozy top to keep me warm. I will update this review once cold weather gets here to let you all know how well it performs.
The inside has a light fleece lining that feels soft, but the outside has a slick, synthetic texture I don’t care for. It’s marketed as a base layer, but the fit is more relaxed than snug, so it doesn’t trap warmth the way a base layer should. Because of the cut, it works better as a second layer over a T-shirt than under heavier winter gear. The mock neck is comfortable and the thumb holes are fine, but they don’t add much function. The material feels durable, and it washes well without shrinking. Warm enough for cool days, but not my go-to for extreme cold.
This is a review of the baleaf women's long sleeve fleece mock turtleneck base layer, medium size, blue color. I ordered this for my wife, so these are her impressions about this fleece. This fleece is marketed as athletic equipment and that's how we're reviewing it - focusing on performance over style. But first, how does it fit? This fleece has a snug fit on a somewhat curvy girl. She thought it felt just right, I thought it looked great on her. As a base layer, you don't want a loose fit, or you lose the insulating quality of the fleece. You also don't want it to be stretched too tight, or you will lose heat through the resulting thread gaps. This fabric has a good amount of stretch to it, so it will do its job as athletic gear. One criterion that scores huge bonus points with my wife is the softness of the material against her skin. The fleece's inner surface is very soft, and she loved the feel. The fabric quality seems excellent, and she gave it full marks for comfort. Similarly, the thumb loops and built in 'mittens' are bonus features that you may or may not use, but you won't notice them if you don't use them. The pit and back vents are an interesting feature. You lose heat through these, so this fleece is very determined to be activewear, emphasis on 'active.' But since it's a base layer, you should also have a windbreaker or shell to go over it if it's truly cold when you're not moving.Overall, we loved this. The fit, style, and design are perfect for a base layer. You can buy this fleece with confidence.
Quality item, very warm! This is very well made and I am sure it will be very warm come the colder weather. The stitching is top notch, the fabric is fleece lined for more warmth, and the fit is perfect. I typically am between a small and medium. I ordered medium and it fits perfectly. Very happy I got this and I know it will come to good use this winter.
Baleaf thermal shirt is comfortable and can be worn stand alone or as a base layer. Size chart in description is accurate. I like the back style of the shirt with the attractive seams and the mock turtleneck style. There is mesh lining for the upper back and under the arms, otherwise the shirt is lined in soft fleece. The length is perfect, hitting mid to lower hip area. There are thumb holes, which I never use, along with the ability to fold the cuff down for hand warmth. I machine washed this in cool water, fluffed a few minutes in the dryer and then hang dried. I think the cost of $39.90 is a little high, but this is a quality thermal shirt. Overall, I am happy I purchased this shirt and would probably do so again.
I bought the Baleaf long sleeve mock neck thermal in navy blue (size large) and have been wearing it constantly in colder weather. The fleece lining is super soft against the skin and keeps me warm without feeling bulky, and the mock neck provides extra coverage without being too tight. I also really like the thumb holes—they help keep the sleeves in place and add an extra cozy touch. The fit is true to size and works well as a base layer under sweaters or jackets. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that the material isn’t quite as breathable as I’d like for more active wear—it can get a little warm if I’m moving around a lot indoors. Still, it’s a great quality top for the price and perfect for layering in cold weather.
